Opus Solutions Customer Connect Events
In order to create opportunities for our clients to network and share best practices, Opus Solutions has created "Customer Connect," intimate dinner events where a small group of colleagues gather to discuss current trends, challenges and opportunities in the event and marketing space.

The inaugural event was kicked off in September and was well-received by all attendees. "This was a great environment to learn more about what others are doing with events and marketing programs in their own organizations. I took away ideas from the evening that I could immediately implement," said Kathy Sulgit, Senior Manager, Corporate Event Marketing, Cisco Systems.

Essex House, A Westin Hotel - New York, NY

The Essex House is all about location, location, location. Situated on Central Park South in the heart of Manhattan’s shopping district, the Essex House is a short walk to 5th Avenue shopping, the Rockefeller Center, Times Square and of course, Central Park. The hotel itself is the picture of old Manhattan style with beautiful marble floors and rich wood details.

The hotel includes 16 small to medium sized meeting rooms on the second floor conference center, comprising a total of 11,000 square feet of meeting space. The Grand Salon and Petit Salon are located on the main level, and have 3,800 and 1,480 square feet of meeting space respectively. The Grand and Petit Salons are exquisitely and ornately decorated ballrooms and provide the perfect setting for a wedding, cocktail party or executive-level meeting. This hotel is best suited for meetings with 200 or less in attendance.

Along with the million-dollar location, the Essex House has guest room and catering rates to match. The food is very good and the on-site banquet staff is responsive, but groups with limited budgets should plan accordingly. Although the guest rooms are small, they would be considered of average size when based on typical Manhattan standards. Some rooms show a little wear around the edges, but they are well appointed, and the beds were extremely comfortable. For high-level guest rooms, the Essex House includes the St. Regis Club, an executive level of the hotel above the 19th floor. The rooms have separate sitting rooms, more opportunity for city and park views as well as much higher rates.
