Shutters on the Beach - Santa Monica, CA

Shutters on the Beach is a beautiful hotel located in Santa Monica, CA. With an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean and easy beach access, this venue caters to providing a beach cottage experience with comfortable amenities. The hotel consists of 198 sleeping rooms, including 12 suites, all of which were recently renovated. The dark hardwood floors, beautiful built-in cabinetry, and thoughtful sea-inspired touches and décor in each guest room are sophisticated and charming. With the sound of the ocean wafting through the shuttered windows, you feel like you are staying in a cozy beach house.

While the location of the hotel lends it towards leisure guests, the venue is well equipped to hold small to mid-sized corporate events with a limited meeting schedule. All of the hotel's 9,000 square feet of meeting space is located below the lobby level, tucked away from the rest of the activity taking place in their main restaurant, bar and gift shop that is located off of the lobby and check-in desk. Some of the meeting rooms have windows, however, most do not, which is a shame given the beautiful view waiting outside.

With the hotel's beachfront location, you'll naturally want to hold as many functions outside as possible. Shutters has a beautiful pool deck that has hosted numerous weddings and can be used for welcome receptions and cocktail parties. You are also welcome to use the beach for team building activities and the like, however, hosting private events on the beach may prove challenging as the beach in front of the hotel is open to the public. Due to the hotel's close proximity to the Santa Monica Pier you can expect significant traffic on the beach. Since the hotel is located in the heart of Santa Monica, you can also anticipate traffic around town. This, combined with the small circular drive to the hotel's only entrance, requires thorough transportation planning on the front end to ensure a relaxing and positive experience for your guests.

That you know more about your upcoming audience than you realize?

  • How would you like to walk into an event and already know which topics are of most interest to your audience?
  • How nice would it be to custom tailor your speaker's message toward the specific topics of interest of the audience that is sitting in your general session and breakouts?
  • How useful would it be to demonstrate the ROI of your event by being able to show what percentage of your audience has a timeframe to purchase of less than 3 months immediately after the event?

Summary reporting via the Opus Event Resource Center (ERC) allows you secured, direct access to real-time data so you can monitor the performance of your events. View real-time feedback from your registrants, and find out why they are attending and what topics they are most interested in learning about. By assessing this type of information pre-event, you can determine what additional marketing steps are needed and what speakers are necessary in order to meet your marketing program objectives. You can view pre-event profiles and list performance summaries real-time via your ERC, as well as evaluation results post-event!

These tools will give you the leverage you need to justify ROI and allow you to better forecast for future events. Let the Opus Event Resource Center change the way you look at and manage your events.
